A tiny leaf,
That blew in the wind.
Drifting here and there with belief,
That one day it shall its path find.
This leaf blew away,
Far into another land…
Where it found out new things by the day,
And had ideas grand.
It saw a number of different trees,
Mountains, rivers and roads.
Sailed on the gentlest of breeze,
Crossed the widest of moats.
Realized that tiny as it was,
It was a wonderful little thing.
A place amongst all others it has,
And so much happiness it could bring.
It saw new leaves sprout,
Saw the old ones whittle.
Slowly it realized that it shouldn’t have any doubt,
Shouldn’t take life so seriously or turn brittle.
It learnt to cherish life,
Life as it was each day.
Enjoyed growing through the joys, the strife,
Enjoyed the storms as it did each ray.
Got to know that one shouldn’t mope,
But make best of what is.
For only when there is no hope,
Does life come to a still.
It learnt to listen and not feel hurt,
To see and not to judge.
To differentiate between sand and dirt,
When to or when not to hold a grudge.
Time flew by and fall set in,
The leaf knew it was time go for now.
There is hope…for there will be spring,
And yet another tomorrow!!
