Untitled

Held my hand & walked me to school,
Told me stories to make me sleep.
Played games to quell my fear of the dark,
Hugged me close when I wanted to weep.
Made me dolls of paper and what not,
Woke up early to spend time with me.
Took me for walks to talk nineteen to a dozen,
Helped me open my mind, helped set me free…
Taught me to cook,
Taught me the love for most things dear,
Taught me the true meaning of love,
Chased away all of my fear.
A strong embrace that held me all these years,
Shielding me from all things bad.
The jokes, fights, discussions, all that love & care,
I couldn’t wish for a better dad.
